Artist Statement
My aim goes beyond creating something beautiful.
Through images rooted in nature, movement, and light, I explore what it means to grow into who we are meant to be.
I want each painting to reflect who you long to become — a reminder of your goals, your strength, and the quiet fire within you. I want you to recognize a part of yourself in my work and think, This is me. This is who I am becoming.
My art is meant to challenge you — to step beyond the safe and familiar, to live fully, and to keep your eyes on what truly matters.
About
Laetitia Scheidegger
Laetitia Scheidegger is a Swiss painter whose work is rooted in nature, movement, and storytelling. Raised in the countryside, she developed an early sensitivity to landscapes, light, and quiet spaces — elements that continue to shape her visual language today.
Creative from a young age, she was drawn to artistic expression long before she considered it a profession. The discovery of acrylic painting at fifteen marked a turning point. The versatility of the medium opened a new world of possibilities and set her on the path toward becoming a professional artist. Primarily self-taught, she later refined her skills through the Mastery Program at the Milan Art Institute.
Curious and multidisciplinary by nature, Laetitia found in painting a way to bring together her many passions: travel, wildlife, history, music, poetry, literature, and careful observation of the world around her. Other art forms — particularly dance, sculpture, and architecture — also influence her aesthetic, shaping her sensitivity to movement, structure, rhythm, and space. Solo road trips and destinations by the sea are among her greatest sources of inspiration. While she values connecting and sharing her work with others, solitude remains essential to her creative process. It is often during these quiet moments that new ideas and series begin to take shape.
Her paintings are known for their luminous atmospheres, peaceful yet powerful compositions, and subjects that carry symbolic depth. Wildlife frequently plays a central role in her work. Animals, landscapes, and symbolic elements come together in images that feel both grounded and contemplative.
She works primarily in oil, sometimes beginning with acrylic underlayers to build structure and momentum. Gold frequently finds its way into her pieces — a subtle but recurring signature that enhances light and adds dimension. Her creative process has evolved over the years. She often starts with a clear direction, then allows intuition to guide the work as it unfolds. The final painting rarely mirrors the initial concept exactly — it grows beyond it. That evolution — the dialogue between intention and discovery — is central to her practice.
Alongside painting, Laetitia is also a pianist. Music plays a central role in her studio practice. She often paints while listening to music or to podcasts on history, nonfiction, or inspiring life stories. She experiences synesthesia — perceiving music in colors and associating colors with sound — a phenomenon that deeply influences her sense of harmony, contrast, and atmosphere.
Based in Switzerland, she works from a studio located in her grandparents’ countryside home. Her collectors are found across Switzerland as well as in France, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States.
For her, one of the most meaningful aspects of being an artist is witnessing the moment when someone connects deeply with a painting — a quiet recognition that goes beyond words.
